The title track is part of the ongoing Octahedra quest to combine the sound of analogue sequencing with the structure of minimalism - without actually using a hardware sequencer or doing anything in realtime. During the 'ascending' and 'descending' sections the music shifts gradually into a different key. The two slow tracks are exact opposites from the composer's point of view. Mountains has several synths playing the same music at different speeds, creating unexpected chords as they go in and out of phase with each other.
