Double Album
Disc 1: Tracks 1-3
Disc 2: Tracks 4-6

These recordings were taken from the band's US 'Tour' in 2004. The first disc features Parts 1 to 3 of 'Walk The Locust' from their 'Gatherings' concert. After a welcome from concert organizer Chuck Van Zyl the most beautiful melancholy piano playing comes wafting, echoing through the air showing that Adrian is a pretty damned good keyboard player as well as programmer. Those fingers can actually move as well as twiddle knobs. Soft synth touches float underneath giving added texture. As the last piano notes fade into the distance a complex sequence sends...

Double Album
Disc 1: Tracks 1-4
Disc 2: Tracks 5-6

The first CD of this double was taken from their E-Live festival performance in October 1999. As usual the music is improvised and is therefore unique. All AirSculpture's music is effectively live. Some is live in the studio where as in this case it is in front of an audience.

We begin with cosmic drones, twitters and effects blended perfectly to create one of their best atmospheric passages ever. A faintly melodic lead line is then introduced. A few minutes later a rapid high register sequence starts up- and what a corker it...

Recorded at AirSculpture’s Eurosonic festival gig in Sweden. Everything AirSculpture plays is improvised, this is 100 % unique music inspired by the moment not just live versions of already available material. In fact there is very little difference between an AirSculpture studio album and a live one. The music is created spontaneously whether it is in front of an audience or not. Many people including other musicians refuse to believe this however such in the quality of the music and almost telepathic understanding between the three band members. AirSculpture create a music that is inspired by the mid to late...

The opening track ‘Dark Design’ kicks off with some seriously weird effects before a foreboding sequence begins to take shape at the two minute mark. Subliminal white noise percussion adds the merest suggestion of detail while held choral pads flesh out the sound alongside all manner of other synth vox. The sequence continually gains momentum - we’re only 5 minutes in and already AirSculpture have developed a massive wall of electronic pulsations. It’s hugely impressive stuff and the way the sounds constantly mutate is breathtaking. Focus on anything you like - synth pads, effects, or any of the sequence layers...

The complete set of AirSculpture's triumphant Alpha Centauri appearance is now available on this CD. This is a review of the actual concert, and though musically identical the order on the CD has been changed slightly. Dense textures open proceedings, with crescendo after crescendo being delivered as the first sequencer run is prepared. As it breaks through the background subsides leaving the electronic pulsations almost in isolation. Soon themes re-emerge and consolidate as the sequence lines pile on the pressure. Focus shifts to Prophecy leads as they slice through the soundstage. As the sequence regains the high ground, it is...

An album derived from three sessions during late '95/early '96, here we are presented with AirSculpture in their "raw" form. The music from the sessions was never intended for release, however such was the quality that 8 pieces have been chosen to represent AirSculpture at a point in time. Being a band that does not intend to stand still, this would seem a good tactic.

The bizarrely titled 'Amazonian Lepidoptera Theorise on Chaos' opens the album and immediately we are presented by lush, penetrating synth lines and complex sequence patterns which have become such a trademark, and 'Syzgy' repeats the...

Adrian Beasley, John Christian, Peter Ruczynski. Three guys from Reading. They like to improvise. That's all we need to know really.

'Floe' opens with a repetitive chord structure creating a dark, gloomy atmosphere. Synth riffs attempt to pierce the murk, but to no avail. Six minutes in and the clouds start to disperse. Anticipation is built carefully. The sequences arrive, and (in the words of Dave Law) "what a sequence"! Constantly shifting, constantly developing. At times an echoing pulse, at others a scything wall of sound. It dies momentarily, only to herald in another sequenced section. Well paced, superbly structured,...
