Berlin Via Lhasa is Stephen Palmer’s first new Berlin School music for six years, since the release of Berlin Via Cairo. As before, this is Berlin School music with a twist, but this time the synth-travelling listener takes a trip to Tibet. The music is also more complex and muscular than before, in most part due to the powerful and lyrical drumming of Erich Z. Schlagzeug. The synth sounds on this album were made exclusively with a vintage Korg MS20; also used were the sounds of the Logan, Freeman and Solina string synthesizers. more info

In this album the listener takes a mental journey to Varanasi (formerly Benares) in North India. Erich Z. Schlagzeug augments the four tracks with some complex drumming, and Steve also plays electric guitar. The majority of the synth sounds on this album were made with a vintage Korg MS20.
